What a celebration it was on the eve of Valentine’s Day, the opening of my exhibition, Awakening Around Roses, at the delightful G3 Artspace at the Shirley Burke Theatre in Parkdale.

Fifteen paintings were revealed to the public for the very first time, beautifully hung and expertly lit to allow the roomful of patrons a chance to contemplate each of the portraits of roses and discover their different personalities.

I was introduced by the Visual Arts Co-ordinator of Kingston Arts, Justin Gayner, and I was thrilled to share my story and the story behind the paintings with the audience.

My inspiring gift book accompanying the show and featuring a dozen of my rose paintings was launched, and the Book Designer, Blaise van Hecke and Photographer, Kev Howlett from Busybird Publishing were in attendance.

Patrons enjoyed the Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay from Goodwill Wines, the catering by Truly Scrumptious of Mentone, and good company making for a very enjoyable evening.

It has been my desire that this exhibition inspires an awakening in others and hearing conversations about people fulfilling their creative dreams made my joy from the evening complete. The exhibitions continues until the 12th March.
